The Enduring Legacy of Mahakavi Bharati
- Subramania Bharati, also known as Subramaniya Bharathiyar, was born on 11th December 1882, in a village called Ettayapuram in Tirunelveli District in Tamil Nadu and his childhood name was Subbiah.
- Also known as ‘Mahakavi Bharathiyar’.
Involvement during Nationalist Period
- He worked with the Tamil daily newspaper Swadesamitran.
- He was involved in the extremist wing of the Indian National Congress (INC) party.
- In order to proclaim its revolutionary ardour, Bharathi had the weekly newspaper named ‘India’ ....
