Agamas
On 14th May 2025, the Supreme Court of India requested a committee formed by the Madras High Court to identify Agamic temples as against non-Agamic temples in Tamil Nadu in three months.
What are Agamas?
- Agamas are a collection of ancient scriptures that provide detailed guidelines for the construction of temples, idol installation, rituals, and the conduct of worship in Hinduism.
- They play a foundational role in the religious and spiritual life of many Hindu sects, particularly in South India.
