Ancient Tradition
- The Bagad Yatra has been celebrated for over 800 years in Bavdhan, located in Wai Taluka, Satara district.
Reason for Celebration
- Celebrated annually on Rang Panchami in the Hindu month of Falgun (Krishna Paksha Panchami, the fifth day of the waning moon).
- Symbolises the fulfilment of vows (navas) made to Lord Bhairavnath.
Fasting and Penance
- A chosen devotee undergoes an intense five-day fast before the main event.
