New Indian Heritage Sites Added to UNESCO's Tentative List

On 7th March 2025, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) added six Indian historic heritage sites to its Tentative List of World Heritage Sites.

  • With these additions, India now has 62 sites on the tentative list, an inventory of properties each country intends to consider for UNESCO nomination.

The Sites

Kanger Valley National Park (KVNP)

  • It is located in Jagdalpur within the Bastar District of Chhattisgarh, India.
  • The park draws its name from the Kanger River, meandering from the northwest to the southeast.
