Srimanta Sankardeva Chair
On 29th August, 2024, the Assam Government inked an MoU with Visva Bharati University for establishing the Srimanta Sankardeva Chair at the university.
- As a part of the MoU, a chair in the name of Srimanta Sankardeva will be established with an objective to promote the study and research on Srimanta Sankardeva and his Bhakti Movement beyond the borders of Assam and India.
- Earlier, similar Srimanta Sankardeva Chairs were set up at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi and Punjab University, Chandigarh.
