Centre Sets up Panels to Celebrate Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel, Birsa Munda and A B Vajpayee
On 25th August 2025, the Central Government constituted three separate high-level committees to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Birsa Munda, and the centenary (100th birth anniversary) of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
- All three committees will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950)
- Born: 31 October 1875 (Nadiad, Gujarat)
- Title: Iron Man of India
Contributions
- Integration of several princely states into independent India.
- Played a key role in laying the foundation of India’s administrative system and unity.
- First Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India.
- Honour: Commemorated through the Statue of Unity (2018).
