Mela Patt Festival
On 29th August 2025, the annual three-day Mela Patt, dedicated to Lord Vasuki Nag, the presiding deity of Bhaderwah Valley, commenced at the ancient Khakhal Mohalla in Badherwah town in Doda district (Jammu and Kashmir).
About the Festival
Celebrated in honour of Lord Vasuki Nag, the presiding deity and spiritual guardian of the region, the festival symbolises the union of Mughal Emperor Akbar and King Nag Pal of Bhaderwah, reflecting the valley’s unique blend of history, faith, and cultural harmony.
