India to Boost Naval Capabilities
On 13th July, 2023, in a significant move to bolster India's naval capabilities, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved the purchase of three more Scorpene submarines and 26 Rafale Marine fighter jets for the Navy.

- Submarines to be Built in India: The Scorpene submarines will be built by the Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) under the Buy (Indian) category.
- Progress on Project-75: MDL is already constructing six Scorpene submarines as part of the Project-75 deal signed in 2005, with five commissioned and the sixth undergoing sea trials.
