Maratha Military Landscapes Added to UNESCO World Heritage List
On 11th July 2025, at the 47th Session of the World Heritage Committee (WHC), the Maratha Military Landscapes was inscribed on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List.
- This makes it India’s 44th World Heritage Site, following the 2024 inscription of the Moidams of Charaideo, Assam.
- With this addition, India now ranks sixth globally and second in the Asia-Pacific region for the number of World Heritage Sites.
