India-Cyprus Five-Year Strategic Roadmap

On 16th June 2025, Indian Prime Minister held official talks with President of Cyprus in Nicosia, reaffirming the close bilateral relationship and launched a forward-looking strategic partnership.

  • India’s Prime Minister was awarded the “Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III”, Cyprus’s highest civilian honour.

Five-Year Strategic Roadmap

  • India and Cyprus agreed on a roadmap covering trade, science, culture, and innovation.
  • New focus areas include fintech, defence industry, AI, digitalisation, start-ups, mobility, and connectivity.
  • Defence cooperation to deepen under the January 2025 Bilateral Defence Cooperation Programme.
  • Launch of India-Greece-Cyprus (IGC) Business and Investment Council to boost economic engagement.
