AI and the Reinforcement of Gender and Racial Biases

With the rapid mainstreaming of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) across sectors such as governance, education, healthcare and business, concerns are growing over its unintended social consequences. In this context, UN Women warned that AI systems are increasingly reproducing gender and racial inequalities by reinforcing stereotypes, amplifying online violence and excluding women from decisions that will shape the digital future.
