Vision Document on Drug Control

On 26th June 2026, the Union Home Minister released the Vision Document on Drug Control (2026–2029) during the 10th Apex-Level Meeting of the Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD).

  • The document provides a comprehensive national roadmap to achieve a drug-free India by strengthening enforcement, disrupting organised narcotics networks, preventing drug abuse, and improving rehabilitation through a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach.

Objectives of the Vision Document

  • The Vision Document is built on a three-pronged strategy:
    • Detect trafficking networks through intelligence-driven investigations.
    • Disrupt drug supply chains and illicit financial networks.
    • Destroy organised narcotics ecosystems through coordinated enforcement and prosecution.
