India's Rural Credit System: Expanding Financial Inclusion and Agricultural Growth
Recently, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)'s Rural Economic Conditions & Sentiments Survey revealed that more than half of India's rural households witnessed no increase in income during the past year, while nearly one-fifth reported a decline. Against this backdrop, strengthening institutional rural credit has become central to India's strategy for inclusive and sustainable rural development.
