India-Malawi Energy Cooperation Discussed
On 19th March 2026, India and Malawi held a bilateral meeting in New Delhi.
- The meeting took place on the sidelines of Bharat Electricity Summit 2026.
- Both sides reaffirmed strong bilateral relations.
- Discussions focused on strengthening energy sector cooperation.
- Key areas included renewable energy development.
- Electricity access and power sector planning were discussed.
- Capacity building was also a major focus area.
- Malawi’s membership in the International Solar Alliance was highlighted.
- The alliance was launched by India and France in 2015.
- Both countries expressed interest in deeper collaboration.
- They agreed to continue institutional and technical exchanges.
