Water Security through Community Action: The Rural Imperative

On 25th September 2025, the Union Government launched the National Initiative on Water Security in New Delhi, marking a policy shift to prioritise water conservation under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), which prioritizes water-related projects in rural areas facing water stress.
