Bills of Lading Act, 2025
On 24thJuly 2025, the President formally gave assent to the Bills of Lading Bill, 2025.
- The Bill was passed by the Rajya Sabha on 21st July 2025, following its earlier passage in the Lok Sabha in March 2025.
- It aims to modernize the legal framework governing shipping documents in India by replacing the colonial-era Indian Bills of Lading Act, 1856.
