On Tap Licensing For Small Finance Banks
- RBI is considering ‘on-tap’ licensing facility for small finance banks and proposed to issue the draft guidelines by the end of August, 2019 for promoting banking facility for small borrowers and encourage competition.
- The ‘on-tap’ facility allows the RBI to accept applications and grant licence for banks throughout the year.

- It will enable entities to approach the central bank for obtaining licences for small finance banks on meeting laid-down criteria.
