Recently, SpaceX launched 60 satellites into Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) as part of its project called Starlink Network which aims to provide low-cost and reliable space-based Internet services to the whole world.
Starlink Network
- The network will consist of a constellation of 12000 satellites in LEO.
- SpaceX announced the satellite Internet constellation in January 2015, and launched two test satellites in February 2018.
- The first batch of Starlink satellites were launched in May 2019.
- The company has now deployed 122 satellites in orbit.
- SpaceX informed the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) that it plans to deploy another 30,000 Starlink satellites in coming years.
