Hayabusa 2: Samples from Asteroid Ryugu
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency or JAXA’s Hayabusa 2 spacecraft is all set to land on Earth. The craft is bringing soil samples from an asteroid called Ryugu and is expected to land in a remote location in Australia by 5th December.

- Hayabusa 2 is a Japanese mission launched in December 2014 on a six-year mission to study the asteroid Ryugu and to collect samples to bring to Earth for analysis.
- The Hayabusa 2 spacecraft arrived at the asteroid in June 2018. The spacecraft deployed two rovers and a small lander onto the surface.
