NASA’s VIPER to Land on Moon’s Nobile Crater
On 20th September, 2021, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that its upcoming Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (VIPER) will land at the Moon’s South Pole, near the western edge of the Nobile Crater.
About VIPER Mission
- VIPER, a part of the Artemis mission, is expected to launch by late 2023.
- VIPER will launch on a SpaceX Falcon-Heavy rocket for delivery to the Moon by Astrobotic’s Griffin lander under NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative.
- Mission Duration: VIPER will go on mission duration of 100 Earth days.
- Instruments: VIPER will use a number of instruments such as Regolith and Ice ....
