Nuclear Fusion: UK Scientists Reach New Milestone
Recently, the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority announced that scientists in the UK have managed to produce the largest amount of energy so far from a nuclear fusion reaction.

- Energy: The team of scientists at the Joint European Torus (JET) facility near Oxford in central England generated 59 megajoules of sustained energy during an experiment.
- They sustained a super-hot plasma for 5 seconds during the thermonuclear fusion. This is more than double the record created in 1997 which produced 21.7 MJ of energy in 4 seconds.
