NISAR Mission
Recently, NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar), an Earth-observation satellite, got a traditional send-off ceremony at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California, US.
The satellite will be shipped to India and is expected to be launched in 2024 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh.

- Development: NISAR has been jointly developed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under a partnership agreement signed in 2014.
- Dual-frequency SAR: The 2,800 kilograms satellite consists of both L-band and S-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) instruments, which makes it a dual-frequency imaging radar satellite.
