​Simolu Festival

  • The 2nd Simolu Festival was held at Bwisang-Na, Barunguri, Laokhowa, Assam, on 15-16 February 2025, as a celebration of Bombax ceiba (Shimul) flower blooming.
  • Purpose of the event: sustainable tourism development, environmental awareness campaigns and community involvement programs.
  • Various traditional events showcase folk art together with ethnic meals while performing cultural dances across multiple stages to build community spirit.
