SaaSpocalypse
In early February 2026, Indian IT stocks such as Infosys, TCS, HCLTech, Wipro and Tech Mahindra declined sharply amid a global technology sell-off described by analysts as a “SaaSpocalypse,” triggered by new artificial intelligence tools unveiled by US-based AI startup Anthropic that can perform tasks traditionally handled by software platforms and IT services firms.
- The term “SaaSpocalypse” (Software-as-a-Service apocalypse) refers to fears that advanced AI agents could bypass or replace traditional SaaS platforms, disrupting the existing business model of software providers and IT outsourcing companies.
