Scientists Discover Key to Delaying Female Fertility Decline
In a groundbreaking study, recently scientists from the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) have found a promising way to slow down ovarian aging — the natural decline in the number and quality of egg cells (oocytes) in females.
What the NIAB Study Found
- They discovered that a protein called Cathepsin B (Cat B) plays a key role in speeding up ovarian aging.
- Cat B is an enzyme that breaks down other proteins in the body.
- The team found that reducing Cat B activity helped preserve the ovarian reserve, slowing down the loss of egg cells.
