NASA Relaunches Spacecraft OSIRIS-APEx to Study Apophis
On 27th December, 2023, NASA announced that it has embarked on a renewed mission to study the asteroid Apophis, formerly known as OSIRIS-REx, by relaunching the spacecraft under the new name OSIRIS-APEx.
- The spacecraft, which initially conducted a seven-year journey to bring a sample of asteroid Bennu to Earth, is now on its way to explore the asteroid Apophis, presenting a unique opportunity for scientific investigation.
