Kisan Kavach Suit
On 17th December 2024, Kisan Kavach, India's first indigenous anti-pesticide suit, was unveiled, aiming to protect farmers from pesticide-induced health risks.
- Developed by BRIC-inStem, Bangalore, in collaboration with Sepio Health Pvt. Ltd., Kisan Kavach addresses the severe health risks posed by pesticide toxicity, including respiratory issues and vision loss.
- The washable and reusable suit costs Rs. 4,000 and is designed to last for a year, providing an affordable solution for farmers who face pesticide exposure daily.
- The suit works using advanced fabric technology that deactivates harmful pesticides on contact, ensuring farmer safety by neutralising toxins before they can cause harm.
