India’s ‘Baahubali’ Rocket Launches Heaviest-Ever Satellite into Orbit
On 24th December 2025, India’s heavy-lift launcher LVM3-M6, popularly known as the ‘Baahubali’ rocket, successfully placed BlueBird Block-2, the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil, into low Earth orbit from Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
About the BlueBird Block-2 Satellite
- Part of AST SpaceMobile’s next-generation space-based cellular broadband constellation.
- Designed to beam broadband directly to standard smartphones; no special antennas or devices required.
- Aims to expand global mobile connectivity using space-to-cell technology.
