India-US MH-60R Seahawk Helicopter Sustainment Deal
On 3rd December 2025, India signed a ₹7,995 crore defence sustainment package deal with the United States for the Indian Navy’s MH-60R Seahawk helicopter fleet.
Key Details
- Under the agreement, India’s Ministry of Defence signed a sustainment package for 24 MH-60R Seahawk helicopters developed by Lockheed Martin.
- The package aims to improve long-term operational readiness, strengthen interoperability with US and regional forces, and enhance maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region.
- It will help India establish local maintenance infrastructure, reduce dependence on foreign service providers, and integrate the helicopters more effectively into naval operations
