- Highest-ever defence production in FY 2024-25: ₹1.54 lakh crore
- Indigenous defence production in FY 2023-24: ₹1,27,434 crore
- Growth since 2014-15: 174% increase
- Defence budget increased from ₹2.53 lakh crore (2013-14) to ₹6.81 lakh crore (2025-26)
- Share in total production (FY 2024-25):
- DPSUs + PSUs: 77%
- Private sector: 23% (up from 21% in FY 2023-24)
MSMEs, Licensing & Industry Participation
- 16,000 MSMEs currently participating in defence manufacturing
- 788 industrial licenses issued to 462 companies
- Export authorisations through digital portal: 1,762 in FY 2024-25 (up from 1,507 in FY 2023-24)
- Year-on-year growth in approvals: 16.92%
- Increase in number of exporters: 17.4%
