  • Indigenous defence production in FY 2023-24: ₹1,27,434 crore
  • Growth since 2014-15: 174% increase
  • Defence budget increased from ₹2.53 lakh crore (2013-14) to ₹6.81 lakh crore (2025-26)
  • Share in total production (FY 2024-25):
    • DPSUs + PSUs: 77%
    • Private sector: 23% (up from 21% in FY 2023-24)

MSMEs, Licensing & Industry Participation

  • 16,000 MSMEs currently participating in defence manufacturing
  • 788 industrial licenses issued to 462 companies
  • Export authorisations through digital portal: 1,762 in FY 2024-25 (up from 1,507 in FY 2023-24)
  • Year-on-year growth in approvals: 16.92%
  • Increase in number of exporters: 17.4%
