India Launches First-Ever Carbon Capture Testbeds in Cement Sector
On 13th May 2025, the Government of India has approved the establishment of five Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) testbeds in the cement industry — a first-of-its-kind national initiative. It is a pioneering move to address industrial emissions and accelerate progress toward climate goals.
- Aimed at showcasing decarbonisation pathways via CCU, these testbeds will be implemented through innovative public-private partnerships under the Ministry of Science and Technology.
