DRDO Successfully Tests Indigenous MPATGM
On 11th January 2026, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight-tested the third-generation Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM).
- The missile, featuring fire-and-forget and top-attack capabilities, successfully hit a moving target at the KK Ranges, Ahilya Nagar (Maharashtra).
What is MPATGM?
- MPATGM is an indigenously developed, third-generation anti-tank missile.
- It is man-portable, meaning it can be carried and operated by infantry soldiers.
- It is designed to destroy modern main battle tanks, including those fitted with advanced armour.
