India Successfully Test-Fires ASTRA BVRAAM
On 12th March 2025, the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) successfully test-fired the indigenous ASTRA Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) from a Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) AF MK1 prototype, marking a major advancement in the Indian Air Force's striking capabilities.
- The missile was launched off the coast of Chandipur, Odisha, successfully hitting a flying target with precision.
- ASTRA BVRAAM is designed by DRDO and can engage targets beyond 100 km, featuring advanced guidance and navigation systems for high-accuracy strikes.
