MoD Contracts for ALH Mk-III (MR) and VL-Shtil Missiles
On 3rd March 2026, the Ministry of Defence signed contracts worth Rs.5,083 crore for the procurement of 6 Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Mk-III (Maritime Role) for the Indian Coast Guard and VL-Shtil surface-to-air missiles for the Indian Navy.
- The contract for ALH Mk-III (MR) was signed with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) for Rs 2,901 crore under the Buy [Indian-IDDM (Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured)] category.
- The twin-engine helicopters are designed for maritime security missions from shore bases and ships, strengthening the Indian Coast Guard’s operational reach.
- A Rs.2,182 crore contract was signed with JSC Rosoboronexport (Russia) for Surface-to-Air Vertical Launch ....
