Indian Scientists Decode Genome of Indian Oil Sardine
Recently, scientists at the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) achieved a significant milestone by decoding the entire genome of the Indian oil sardine (Sardinella longiceps), a widely consumed marine fish species.
This marks the first complete genome sequencing of a marine fish species native to the Indian subcontinent.
