‘Agnishodh’ Research Cell at IIT Madras
On 4th August 2025, Chief of the Army, Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, inaugurated ‘Agnishodh’—the Indian Army Research Cell (IARC) at IIT Madras to strengthen self-reliance in defence technology.
- The initiative aligns with the Indian Army’s Five Pillars of Transformation, advancing the pillar of Modernisation and Technology Infusion by integrating academic research with real-time operational needs.
- ‘Agnishodh’ will collaborate with the IIT Madras Research Park, AMTDC, and Pravartak Technologies Foundation to convert lab-scale innovations into field-ready technologies.
