Green Ammonia
Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has recently conducted India’s first-ever auction for the procurement of Green Ammonia under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, achieving a record low price of ₹55.75/kg compared to ₹100.28/kg in 2024.
- Green Ammonia, produced using renewable energy and green hydrogen, is a clean alternative to conventional (grey) ammonia and is vital for decarbonising sectors like fertilizers, shipping, and energy storage.
- It plays a key role in the National Green Hydrogen Mission, serving both as a fuel and as a carrier of hydrogen for large-scale industrial applications.
