250 MW Solar Power Project on Defence Land

On 9th June 2026, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) approved the establishment of a 250 MW Solar Power Project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Sitapur (Ex-Cantonment), Uttar Pradesh.

  • It will be the first large-scale renewable energy project with integrated BESS to be developed on defence land in India.
