Conservation Survey for Peacock Tarantula

Recently, the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department, along with the Eastern Ghats Wildlife Society, launched a conservation status survey for the endangered Peacock Tarantula in the Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR).

  • Endemic to: Eastern Ghats of India
  • Known for: Distinct metallic blue colouration
  • Listed as: Critically Endangered
