Cyclone Nivar
Cyclone Nivar originating in Bay of Bengal , barrelled through Tamil Nadu with windspeeds close to 125-145 kmph recently.April-June and October-December are India’s cyclone seasons.
- Nivar was named by Iran according to the tropical cyclone naming convention.
- Another cyclone named ‘Burevi’ (suggested by Maldives), brewing in the southeast region of the Bay of Bengal, is headed towards southern Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka coasts and is likely to hit on December 4.
