​DoT and CDRI Launch Telecom Resilience Framework

On 12th February 2025, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) unveiled a Disaster Risk and Resilience Assessment Framework (DRRAF) to strengthen India’s telecom sector against disasters.

  • The study, conducted across five states (Assam, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and Gujarat), maps disaster risks and outlines strategic measures to enhance resilience.

  • Infrastructure Strengthening: Enhance technical planning to ensure telecom networks can withstand disaster impacts.
  • Data-Driven Risk Management: Establish a multi-hazard information repository for proactive risk assessment.
