​India Ranks Sixth Among Countries Most Affected by Extreme Weather

On 12th February 2025, a report by Germanwatch’s Climate Risk Index (CRI) ranked India sixth among the top 10 countries most affected by extreme weather events from 1993 to 2023.

  • The country has witnessed over 400 extreme weather events, resulting in $180 billion in losses and at least 80,000 fatalities over the past three decades.
