Global Carbon Emissions to Rise Again in 2025

On 13th November 2025, the Global Carbon Project released new projections showing that global carbon emissions will reach 38 billion tonnes in 2025, rising by 1.1%, with India, China, the United States and the European Union all contributing to the increase.

Key Findings of the Report

  • Global CO₂ emissions are projected to rise to 38 billion tonnes in 2025, an increase of 1.1% from 2024.
  • India’s emissions are expected to grow by 1.4%, slower than the 4% rise recorded in 2024 due to favourable monsoons and strong renewable energy growth.
