67 Countries Sign UN Treaty to Protect Oceans
On 20th September, 2023, the UN treaty to protect the world's oceans was signed by 67 countries as part of global efforts to address the deterioration of marine environments due to overfishing and human activities.
- The treaty, which aims to conserve biodiversity in the high seas, was agreed upon in March and formally adopted by the United Nations in June 2023.
