India Semiconductor Mission 2.0: Strengthening India’s Chip Ecosystem
In the Union Budget 2026-27, the Government announced India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0 to strengthen domestic chip manufacturing as well as semiconductor equipment and materials production. India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 marks a transition from building initial capacity to consolidating and scaling the semiconductor ecosystem. The Union Budget 2026-27 has allocated Rs.1,000 crore for the new phase, focusing on domestic manufacturing, innovation, and talent development.
