The Technology Development Board (TDB), under the Department of Science & Technology, has backed BatX Energies Pvt. Ltd., Gurugram, to commercialise an indigenous battery recycling technology.
- The project focuses on recovering lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese from used lithium-ion batteries using a patented hydrometallurgical process.
- BatX’s low-temperature, low-pressure method handles multiple battery chemistries with high recovery efficiency (97–99%) and eliminates the need for imported recycling equipment.
- The facility will scale from pilot to commercial level, producing high-purity battery-grade compounds for domestic and export ....
