Emperor Penguin as a Sentinel Species

On 9th April 2026, the International Union for Conservation of Nature listed the Emperor Penguin as Endangered, highlighting its role as a sentinel species signalling the impact of climate change in Antarctica.

What is a Sentinel Species?
