India-France Strengthen Civil Nuclear Cooperation

On 22nd September 2025, New Delhi hosted the second meeting of the India-France Special Task Force on Civil Nuclear Energy, co-chaired by Foreign Secretary and Secretary-General of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, to review progress and enhance bilateral cooperation.

  • India and France agreed to remain in close contact on critical aspects of nuclear energy collaboration to ensure ongoing advancement of joint initiatives.
  • The meeting reaffirmed commitment to Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and Advanced Modular Reactors (AMRs), as outlined in the Declaration of Intent signed in February 2025.
