US Ends Sanctions Waiver on Chabahar Port
Recently, the US administration led by President Donald Trump announced that it will revoke the 2018 sanctions waiver on Chabahar Port, effective September 29, 2025.

Strategic Importance of Chabahar Port
- Located in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province, 1,000 km from Gujarat’s Kandla port, it allows direct access to Afghanistan and Central Asia.
- Part of a multi-modal corridor linking India’s west coast to Kabul via Chabahar, and further to Central Asian countries.
