UN Member States Endorse ‘Seville Commitment’

On 17th June 2025, ahead of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development in Sevilla, Spain(held from 30 June - 3 July 2025) , UN Member States endorsed the outcome document — Compromiso de Sevilla — laying the foundation for a renewed framework to close the $4 trillion annual financing gap for developing countries.

What is the Seville Commitment?

  • It is the outcome of months of intergovernmental negotiations, co-facilitated by Mexico, Nepal, Zambia, and Norway.
